Timothy Shaw

Waynesville-Timothy L. Shaw, age 49, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at St. Joseph Health Care System.

A native of Alamance County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Dorothy Nance Shaw. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Morris Shaw, and a grandchild, James Ledbetter. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and was employed as a truck driver for Bestway Systems, Inc.

He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Beatrice Shelton Shaw; three daughters, Katie Cagle, of Waynesville, Mickey Pilkey and Amanda James, both of Maggie Valley; three sisters, Cathy Layne, and her husband, Dale, JoDanna Green, and Mary Ellen Shaw, all of Burlington, NC; six grandchildren; and adopted parents, Zalie and J. W. Hobson of Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Terry and John Bradshaw, Tim White, Johnny Williams, Matthew Modlin, and Steve Shaw.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis and Reverend Greg Warren. Burial will follow at Allison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the services.
