Timothy John Stoeckel

Timothy John Stoeckel, 36, of Charlotte, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Mission Hospital surrounded by his parents. A native of Alabama, he lived in Waynesville prior to moving to Charlotte. He is the son of John and Claire Johnson Stoeckel.

Tim graduated from Lee County High School in 2005. He was very active in the Drama program, was a Thespian and won several awards. He also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Tim earned a bachelor's degree in drama from Western Carolina University in 2011. He performed at HART Theater. Tim was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesville. He worked in the hospitality industry at several country clubs.

He enjoyed being a jokester, acting, singing, traveling and most of all was an amazing father.

Tim is survived by his wife of eleven years Rene Van Der Watt Stoeckel; two daughters, Quinn Stoeckel and Kennedy Stoeckel; grandmother, Nancy Love (Doyle) from Alabama; In-laws, Gideon and Cheryl Van Der Watt from South Africa; two sisters, Nina Butler (Dan) from England and Kellie Blount (Andrew) from Alabama.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church, Waynesville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, with Reverend Keith Turman officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hart Theater, 25 Pigeon Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.

The care of Tim has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
