Tracy Elizabeth Turpen passed away Sunday January 15th at the age of 27 in Asheville, NC.

Tracy is survived by her loving mother Catherine Silver of Weaverville, NC formerly from Alpena, son Evander Elzie, father Rick Turpen of Hawaii, sister Roxanne Turpen, grandmother Ruth Turpen, and Tracy's fiance Tyler Stout. Also, close family, Robert Silver, Carl and Carol Silver of Alpena, Tom Silver of Weaverville, his children Lauren and Alexander Silver, and Jim Erskine of Weaverville. Her grandparents were Robert G. Silver and Elizabeth Henry Silver of Alpena. Tracy will be missed by numerous relatives and friends.

Tracy was a beautiful, loving and talented young woman with a generous heart loved by so many people. Anyone who knew Tracy was drawn by her joyful and bright spirit. She was a loving mother to her young son Evander. Tracy could discover beauty in our world in the most astonishing ways. Her joyful laugh and shining spirit will live on in all of us as her light will never dim.

Tracy was born in Hilo, Hawaii and loved spending time with family on the Big Island to hike Waipio Valley, go snorkeling and enjoy her favorite fruits. She and her sister Roxanne spent many wonderful summers with friends and family on the lakes near Alpena, Michigan. Tracy felt at home in the mountains surrounding Asheville and and was constantly exploring the world in new ways. Everything Tracy did carried her own creative spark and unique vision.

Tracy was a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in technical photography. With incredible focus, talent and spirit she became an accomplished wedding photographer whose images captured the essence of joy, love and beauty as far as New Zealand and Europe.

Tracy was looking forward to marrying Tyler Stout of Asheville on June 16th 2012; she will remain in our hearts forever. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
