Troy Hargrove

Troy Edward Hargrove, age 75, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Rufus Taft and Edna Justice Hargrove. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Fredrick Hargrove. Troy was a 1955 graduate of Bethel High School and a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS degree in business. Troy was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Champion International with 36 years of service as transportation supervisor. Following his retirement, he worked at Haywood County Research Station. Troy was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a former board member of Champion Credit Union, member of Haywood County Cattleman's Association, and was past president of Bethel Youth Organization. Troy loved fly-fishing, farming, traveling and attending all the sporting events of his grandchildren. He dearly loved his family and never met a stranger. Troy loved the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lois Ann Caldwell Hargrove; two daughters, Ginger Young and her husband, Larry, and Kellie Jaynes and her husband, Mike, all of Canton; one son, Tracy Hargrove and his wife, Ronda, of Canton; a sister, Maxine Clark of Bristol, Tennessee; a brother, Frank Hargrove of Graham, North Carolina; and six grandchildren, Dustin Young and his wife, Emily, of Fletcher, Andrew Young of Canton, Zachary Jaynes and his wife, Jordan, of Lexington, South Carolina, Tyler Jaynes, Katie and Will Hargrove, all of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Frazier, Reverend Johnny Foster, and Reverend Dr. Mike Odom officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
