Troy Truitt

Waynesville, Troy Thomas Truitt, age 79, of Bryson City, died on Monday, May 5, 2008 at Harris Regional Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Swain County, he was the son of the late William Ellic and Millie Gassaway Truitt. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a very talented mechanic and could fix almost anything. He loved fishing and hunting and was a jack-of-all trades. He is survived by one sister, Sylvia June Truitt, of Waynesville and special friends Joe Moore of Clyde and Joyce Reece of Waynesville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Paul Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville and at other times, at the home of his sister, Sylvia Truitt.
