Tula Clark

November 11, 1919 — January 21, 2003

Canton-Tula Murr Clark-83, formerly of Canton died Monday, January 21, 2003 at Carrington Place Nursing Home in Matthews, NC after an extended illness.

She was a native of Haywood County and resided there most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Oak and Rosa Bales Murr and the wife of the late Reverend Robert Lewin Clark who died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Gail Gibson who died in 2001. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Robert W. Clark of Paradise, TX, Jerry Dean Clark of Huntersville, NC and Stanley A. Clark of Canton, two brothers, Rubin Murr of Rock Hill, SC and Harry Murr of Houston, TX, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Springhill
Baptist Church with Reverend Claude Conard, Reverend W. O. Henson and Reverend James Parham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Ministries, 1300 Harmon Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403 or to Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1918 Murray Road, Canton, NC 28716.
