Hollywood, Florida, formerly of Haywood County - Tulon Farmer Berry, 95, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017, at her residence.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Christie Sisk Farmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Astor Berry; two sisters, Irene Murr and Vera Melican; and one brother, Leonard Farmer. Tulon was a 1940 graduate of Bethel High School and received an associate degree in 1942 at Blanton's Business College. During World War II, she worked with the Civil Service as a secretary for a United States Air Force Colonel as well as an Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tulon was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1922 and was married on Christmas Day in 1944 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family moved to South Florida where she retired in 1982 but kept a second home in Haywood County on Dix Creek.
She is survived by one son, Charles Stuart Berry (Lynda) of Thornton, Colorado; two daughters, Sandra Elaine Poole of Hollywood, Florida and Renee Carolyn Burcl (Gary) of Newnan, Georgia; one brother, Richard Farmer of Canton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating.. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
