Valerie Mcintosh

Valerie Plemmons McIntosh, age 81, of Lakeland, FL, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native of Haywood County and was a long term resident of Florida. Valerie was the daughter of the late D. S. and Ova West Plemmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James P. McIntosh, who died in 1991; a brother, Cameron M. "Peanut" Plemmons; and a brother-in-law, Jesse B. Welch. Valerie was the office manager of Plemmons Concrete Products from 1955 until 1962. She made her home in Florida since 1962. While there she was a successful Realtor and homemaker. She was a member of Canton Presbyterian Church. Her love of the outdoors was shown through her beautiful plants and flowers. She will be missed by many family and friends. She is survived by a brother, Nyal Plemmons and his wife, Glenda, of Canton; a sister, Zira Welch of Canton; three nieces, Dorinda Bowers of FL, Nylenda Heatherly and her husband, Danny, of Canton and Celina Barber and her husband, Cecil, of GA; three nephews, Brian Welch of Franklin, Gary Plemmons of FL and Chad Plemmons of Canton; a sister-in-law, Doris Plemmons of FL and a special friend, Robert Burns. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Danny Heatherly and the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service, at other times, the family will be at the residence of Nyal and Glenda Plemmons. Pallbearers will be Nathan Heatherly, Brian Welch, Dick Rogers, Joel Maney, Doug Crawford, and David Brown.
