Valerie Sanford

Clyde, Valerie Ola Henline Sanford, age 92, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Spicewood Cottages.

A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Ula Taylor Henline.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Henline.  Valerie was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.  She retired with 25 years of service in the Dietary Department with Haywood Regional Medical Center.  Valerie loved to quilt, crochet and enjoyed canning the vegetables she grew in her garden of which she took great pride.

Valerie is survived by a son, Ray Sanford; sister-in-law, Pat Henline, both of Clyde; two brothers, Clannie Henline, of Walhalla, South Carolina and Fred Henline, and his wife, Corena, of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Joshua Frazier officiating.  Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
