Canton – Van Lowe Revis, 89, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Joseph and Mary West Revis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Faye Hyde Revis, who died in 1987; a daughter, Diana Revis (Lewis) Cooke; and a grandson, Craig Cooke. Van was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Van was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed growing tomatoes. He loved dogs and being at the barn with his horses.
He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Mashburn (Ronnie) of Waynesville, Jan Lee (Allen) of Canton, Shanan Cole (Richard) of Canton; a son, Kevin Revis (Ginger) of Canton; two brothers, Paul Revis (Barbara) of Candler and Doyce Revis (Elaina) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Mitch Cooke, Brad Mashburn, Todd Mashburn, Mitchell Lee, Dalton Cole, Savana Cole, Mary Revis and Chandler Revis; and three great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Shelby Mashburn and Cameron Scoffield.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Jimmy Burris officiating. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Food Group, 261 Dix Creek Road, Canton, NC 28716.
