Venia Brown

Lake Junaluska-Venia Rhinehart Brown, age 82, of Edwards Road, died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William and Nora Downs Rhinehart. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Hipps and Elizabeth Gregory. She was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, canning, and being with family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Brown; two daughters, Carolyn Daniels and her husband, Bill of Summerville, SC, and Diana Schwarz and her husband, Dan of Hamilton, Ohio; one son, James R. Brown and his wife, Margaret of Columbia, SC; one sister, Willie Killian of Lake Junaluska; four grandchildren, Gina Austin, Denny Daniels, Sadie and Amanda Schwarz; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Long's Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert E. Fuquay, Jr. and Reverend Woody Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the services, at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence. The pallbearers will be Dan Schwarz, Bill and Denny Daniels, Jimmy Austin, Ken Barnett, Bob Miller, and Ricky Boyd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long's Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 459, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
