Vera Crawford

Waynesville, Vera McDaniel Crawford, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Sevierville, Tennessee, she had resided most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Narvel and Mary Katherine Miller Price. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wade McDaniel, who died in 1954 and second husband, Harry Crawford, who died in 2002; a grandson; four brothers, and six sisters. Vera was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and was known as a terrific pie maker at Boyds Drive In. She is survived by two daughters, Helen "Tootie" McDaniel of Waynesville and Linda Jean Richardson and her husband, Carl, of Palm Harbor, Florida; a stepdaughter, Gloria Jean Wyatt of California; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will be private.
