Vera Freeman

Waynesville - Vera Jeanette Freeman, age 65, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Annie Lee Freeman. Vera was a member of the United States Air Force and was employed by the Waynesville Police Department.

She is survived by one daughter, Eva Lang and her husband, Richard, of Belton, SC; a son, Christopher Houck and his fiancé, Jennifer Teague, of Waynesville; a sister, Betty West and her husband, Bruce, of Traveler's Rest, SC; two brothers, Keith Freeman and his wife, Kimberly, of Canton and Johnny Freeman and his wife, Monika, of Cadiz, KY; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Freeman; and three grandchildren, Laela Kamil Lang, Ethan Ambrose Lang, and Seth Clarence Lang.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery.
