Vera McCulloch, 92, of Asheville, departed this life on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. A native of Woodfin, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eva Watkins Tweed. Although she had not worked outside the home for many years, she had worked at the Terry Company and Biltmore TV & Appliance. Some of her favorite pastimes were shopping, visiting the Cherokee Casino to play slots, and watching her Tarheels basketball and Panther Football.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William L. Vance, Jr., Carroll Roberts and Charles E. McCulloch; sisters, Clara Morse and Juanita Bartlett and brother, Jack Tweed.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Judy Vance Garren and son, Keith B. (Laura) McCulloch; a wonderful grandmother to Brandon and Caitlyn McCulloch, Melanie (Bart) Cox, Vance L. (Traci) Garren and Justin Marlowe; beloved great-grandmother of Savannah, Garren and Hayley Darling, Courtni and Montana Johnson and Jude Garren; step-mother of Jackie and Johnny McCulloch, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 11th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
