Vera Miller

Vera Rogers Miller, age 98, of Trammel Avenue died Thursday May 11, 2006, at The Brian Center of Waynesville. Vera was a native of Clay County, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Walter and Leola Brooks Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George D. Thomason, who died in 1934, and Clyde E. Miller, who died in 1968; two sons, Billy and Walter Thomason and a daughter, Dorothy L. Thompson. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5198. She loved to play bingo and was very active outdoors. Vera is survived by two sons, Joe B. Thomason and his wife, Wilma and Frank Thomason and his wife, Ruby, both of Clyde; 11 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road with the Reverend Perry Hines officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Monday morning prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
