Veria Davis

Canton - Veria Taylor Davis - age 76 of Thompson Mill Road died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late, Hugh and Inez Littrell Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Tabor Davis who died in 1998 and one brother, Ernest Taylor. Veria volunteered with Haywood Christian Ministries for more than ten years. She was also a faithful member and worker in Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Vivian Davis Reeves and her husband, John Kindred of Waynesville; one son, Joseph Robert Davis and his significant other, Virginia True of Swannanoa; one grandchild, Rhiannon Burress and her husband, Clint of Canton and two great-grandchildren, Calee Davis-Burress and Emma Burress. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Cayton and Reverend Jimmy Trantham officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
