Vertilee Cabe

Canton- Vertilee Elizabeth Ensley Cabe - age 96 of 123 Johnson Street died Thursday, April 06, 2006 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Charles and Susan Stamey Ensley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Cabe who died in 1986; two sisters, Rachel Henline and Lucille Blackwell and one brother Horace Ensley. She was involved in the Haywood Technical Wood Carving Programs, a Red Cross Volunteer for 29 years, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Home Demonstration Clubs. She is survived by three daughters, Marian Savage and her husband, Bill of Canton, Barbara Wilson of Canton and Carolyn Clontz and her husband, Dick of Fayetteville, GA; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Rick Gosnell officiating. The family will receive friends at her residence at 123 Johnson Street. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
