Vickie Henry

Mary Victoria "Vickie" Davis Henry, age 88, of Clyde passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Spicewood Cottages. A native of Haywood County, she was a prior resident of Detroit, Michigan and returned to Haywood County in 1987. She was the daughter of the late J. Patton and Cynthia Rathbone Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert George Henry who died on August 1, 2005, two brothers and three sisters. She retired from K-Mart as a receiving clerk and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Vickie was a special lady and will be remembered for being a wonderful and loving mother. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed working with crafts especially crocheting. She was also an avid reader and loved tending to her flower garden. She is survived by two sons, Gary M. Henry and his wife, Beverly, of Fairview and Steven M. Henry and his wife, Theresa, of Woodhaven, Michigan; several step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
