Vicky Smith

Clyde – Vicky Sue Duckett Smith, 70, formerly of the Crabtree Community, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at her residence.

Vicky was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Davis and Connie Surrett Duckett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wilson Smith, who died in 2002.  Vicky was a homemaker, caregiver and a member of Crabtree Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Scott Hartbarger of Dillsboro; one son and his wife, Alan and Angela Smith of Sylva; one half-sister, Betty Buckner of Gastonia; three grandchildren, Benjamin Hartbarger, Austin and Bethani Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Dean officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Center at Duke University, P.O. Box 3403, Durham, NC  27710.
