Victor "Vic" Montgomery Browning, age 76, of the Lake Logan Road Community, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. A native of Durham, he was a son of the late Paul and Ruby Burton Browning. He was the owner/operator of Vic's Place Restaurant in South Carolina and a United States Army veteran. Vic worked in the electrical business in Charlotte. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and carpenter. Vic thoroughly enjoyed working around his mountain home. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judith Heinzman Browning; a son, Monty Browning of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Judi Lin Huffman and her husband, Rodney, and Angela Knight all of Olympia, WA; one brother, Dr. Paul Browning and his wife, Phyllis, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; four nieces, Ashley, Andi, Betsy, and Blair; and two grandchildren, Nichole and Ashley Huffman. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. An inurnment will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
