Virgil Hall

Canton-Virgil Gene Hall, age 72, of 17 Carson Street, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital Campus.

He was a son of the late Charles G. and Dorothy Vick Hall and retired from Champion International with 39 years of service. Virgil was a devoted husband and loving father. He gave to others freely but quietly. His joys in life in addition to his family were his two little dogs. Although a very private man, he touched many lives in his 72 years. He leaves a void that can never be filled. We love him and miss him.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anna Lovin Hall of Canton, one daughter, Janna Lynn Trantham and her husband Keith of Canton, one son, Daniel Hall of Carson City, NV, three brothers, Everette Hall of Conway, SC, Vaughn and Edger Hall, both of Canton, 3 grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob and Jesse Trantham.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend Gerry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of Carolyn Kelley Stephenson, 234 Willis Road, Canton, NC 28716.
