Virginia Dyson

Waynesville, Virginia Cordella Dyson, age 78, of Ben Drive, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Miami County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ralph and Mabel Parrott and was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Holly Ann Dyson and three brothers. Virginia was a former seamstress at the John Graham Store and a member of Jonathan Valley Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Surviving her are two sons, Robert Dyson (Mary Ellen) and Jeff J. Dyson (LaNeah) of Waynesville; three daughters, Kim Priest (Pat) of Goldsboro, and Sherry Carver (Terry) and Shannon Goodson, of Waynesville; a half-sister, Judy Wadsworth (Anthony) of Blairsville, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald Greene, Reverend Bobby Downs, and Reverend R.G. Garland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent in c/o Jeff Dyson, 57 Hoglen Ridge, Waynesville, NC 28785.
