Virginia Greenlee Isom, 88, of Candler, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 24, 2025, with loving family by her side.
She was born in Kingstree, SC on March 9, 1937, daughter of the late Arlie and Irene Greenlee. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Harry Greenlee.
Virginia graduated from Mt. Pisgah Academy in 1956, Madison College School of Nursing in 1960 and worked as a nurse until 1964. She then devoted her life to the care of her family and home.
She enjoyed traveling, spending winter months in Florida, playing tennis, gardening, birding, and most importantly, cherished time spent with her family and friends. Virginia was a member of the Asheville North Seventh-day Adventist Church and held various positions throughout her lifetime.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Albert, of 65 years; three children, Cindy McKinney (Gary), Tina Isom, and Al Isom, Jr. She was a proud Nana to three grandchildren, Andrew Capps, Kristin Capps, and Ashley Isom; as well as three great-grandchildren, Raegan, Sophia, and Aliyah. Virginia is also survived by a sister, Ellen Cox, and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart, warm smile, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
At this time, a service has not been finalized.
The care of Mrs. Isom has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
