Virginia Petrick

Waynesville, Virginia Tsourakis Petrick, 51 years young, born January 23, 1964, went home to be with her Lord after a brave and courageous battle with cancer July 22, 2015. She passed away peacefully with her loving family and friends by her side. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, John R. Petrick; her beautiful children, Julie Petrick Neidhardt (B.J.), Mary Angela, and John Edward; her big brothers, Dean Tsourakis (Renee) and Nick Tsourakis (Suzanne); sisters-in-law, Susie Thomas and Linda Petrick; nieces, Elizabeth Tsourakis, Jenny Rose Robbins, and Katie Marsh; aunt, Clara PapaGeorge of Rhodes, Greece; numerous maternal and paternal cousins in Tarpon Springs, Georgia, South Carolina, and Rhodes, Greece; and the Petrogermans. A native of Tarpon Springs, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Tsourakis. Virginia received her Bachelor of Science and Master's Degrees from the University of Florida. She began her career at GTE MobileNet as a Marketing and Events Manager, where she met the love of her life, John, at the GTE World Challenge. They were married in 1990. Beautiful Virginia then committed her life to her family, friends, and community. Her charitable passion was always St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. During her illness, Virginia championed a Christmas toy drive for the children at St. Jude, and most recently The St. Jude Benefit Tennis Classic at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers that so lovingly cared for Virginia. Also, all the family and friends that provided so much support when it was needed the most. Funeral services were held at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
