Virginia Shaver

Virginia Sue Banks Shaver, of Candler, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. A native of Burnsville, she was the daughter of the late Luther James Banks and Mildred Evangeline Tipton Banks. She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church and retired in December 1991 after 30 years with Square D. Virginia loved her flower garden, hummingbirds and the NC Tar Heels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jim, JC and Pat Banks.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Hallie F. Shaver; daughter, Gloria Autry; 5 grandchildren and siblings Ellen Hensley and Don Banks.
A Memorial Service will be held at Pole Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, May 24th at 3:00PM with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date in Burnsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pole Creek Baptist Church or John F. Keever Solace Center.
