Virginia Towe

Virginia Capps Towe, age 91, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Madison County she was the daughter of the late Riley and Ollie Cody Capps. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Meryl Coggins. She retired from the Bank of Asheville with more than 20 years of service. She was a member of Candler Church of God. Virginia was a gifted seamstress for many years making clothing for both herself and Henry. She also enjoyed working in her garden. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Carl Henry Towe; four stepsons, Robert David Towe and his wife, Lenore, of Hudson, FL, Carl Henry Towe, Jr., and his wife, Dortha, of Candler, Everett Carroll Towe of Candler, and Charles Ray Towe and his wife, Linda, of Caldwell, ID; two sisters, Kathleen Capps of Asheville and Mildred Austin and her husband, Leonard, of Asheville; a brother, Robert Capps and his wife, Wendel, of Asheville; 10 step-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
