Vivian Kirkpatrick

Waynesville, Vivian Gunter Kirkpatrick, age 71, of Majestic Lane, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Brian Center with her family by her side. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mattie Brown Gunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Clarence, Harry, and Clinton Gunter and a half brother, Walter Gunter. She was of Baptist faith and had a passion for life and family and enjoyed visiting and talking with her friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Bruce Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Diana Kirkpatrick, and companion, Bill Wood, of Waynesville; two sons, Alan Kirkpatrick and his wife, Joyce, of Locust, North Carolina and Rick Kirkpatrick and his wife, Jonnie Sue, of Waynesville; one sister, Margie Forrester, of Hot Springs; three brothers, Frank Gunter and his wife, Patti, of Green Valley, Arizona, Warren Gunter and his wife, Kathy, and Carroll Gunter and his wife, Gillian, all of Madera, California; eight grandchildren, Leah, Blake, and Cassie Kirkpatrick, Andrea, Terry, and Kelly Wills, and Cody and Jesse Corn; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her dear friends, Bob and Helen Clampitt. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Moore and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff and Leslie Hunter, Michael and Blake Kirkpatrick, and Cody and Jesse Corn. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Donnie Forrester and Jimmy and David Teague. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.
