Vivian Rhinehart

Vivian McDowell Rhinehart, age 90, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her residence. A native of Gordon, Georgia and resident of Haywood County for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late L. C. and Berta McCook McDowell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson McKay Rhinehart, who died in 1998 and three brothers, Wayne, Ray, and Marvin McDowell. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church where she was a choir member for many years and served as director of Bible school. She was the matriarch of the McDowell Family. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Rhinehart Peek and her husband, Bob, of Snellville, Georgia; Michael McKay Rhinehart and his wife, Sharon, of Canton; a sister, Patricia Lowe of Akron, Ohio; three brothers, L. L. "Buddy" McDowell of Canton, Neal McDowell of Killen Alabama, and Joe Bob McDowell of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. A special recognition and thank you goes to her home caregiver for the past four years, Linda Follett. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ken Lowe and Reverend David Ortigoza officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Interment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.
