Vivian Stephenson

Canton - Vivian Grace McFee Stephenson, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 07, 2017 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Dennis Compton and Della Warren McFee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Vivian loved gardening and animals. She was involved in Scouts and loved to be outdoors spending time with her family. Vivian was a member of Canton Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Roy Lee Stephenson; three daughters, Sharon Gross and husband, Ben, of Clyde, Karen Stephenson, and Mary Bennett and husband, Charles, of Canton; one son, Robert Stephenson and wife, Missy, of Canton; one sister, Mildred Jones of Asheville; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
