Walter Ensley

Waynesville, Walter �Junior� Ensley, age 91, went home to Jesus on Friday, October 22, 2010. He was born September 12, 1919 to William and Lola Ensley of Sylva, NC. Junior was preceded in death by his precious and loving wife, Claudine Ensley. They were happily married for 66 years before her passing. Junior and his wife Claudine owned Ensley�s Superette in Waynesville from 1946 until 1981. Three brothers, Vearl Ensley, Lowell Ensley, Jack Ensley and one sister Margie Ensley Potts also precede him in death. Junior leaves behind three loving children, Judy Jones (Stan) of Gastonia, N.C., Kay Newman of Maggie Valley, N. C. and Sonny Ensley of Orlando, FL. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren, Ren�e Calvert, Stephen Christopher, Mignon Gainey, April Harvey, Pam Davis, Wendy Patton, Rebekah Wilson, Julie Spencer, Chad Ensley and Chris Ensley and their mother Lori Brach. Junior also had eleven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jonathan, Shannon, Bryan, Tosha, Tamara, Tabatha, Becki, Jennifer, Christina, and Bailee; and eight great-great grandchildren, Summer, Allison, Morgan, Cheyenne, Demarcus, Alexys, Aleigha, and Quintin. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Calvert, Gil Carver, Bob Harvey Jeff Patton, Wayne Sugg, Cheyenne Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be the First Baptist Church Adult Men�s Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Reverend Dr. Robert Prince will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with military services conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47 of which he was a long- standing member. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the church chapel prior to the service.
