Walter Jones

Walter Lee Jones, 79, of Asheville, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Horace William and Matilda "Tilda" Ann Warren Jones. He retired after 55 years with the Biltmore Estate and loved working in his garden and being with his dogs. He was a member of Fruit of Labor Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Jones and sister, Elizabeth Jones.
He is survived by his siblings, John Jones of Black Mountain, Wayne Jones of Swannanoa, Ann Brown of Asheville, Mary Penland of Asheville, Buddy Jones of Leicester and Beverly Dodd of Candler and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 6-8PM at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, March 13th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, March 14 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
