Walter Medford

Walter Medford, age 71, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Ira and Delia Gaddy Medford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Ray Medford, who died in 2008. He and his wife Donna owned and operated Medford's Restaurant in Canton for many years. Walter was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by a son, Brian Medford of Piedmont, SC; one daughter, Kellee Medford of Charlotte; and one aunt, Nancy Gregori of Charlottesville, VA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Brian Medford officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
