Walter Williams

Walter Williams, age 80, of Cook Lane died suddenly Thursday, April 7, 2005. He was a native of Cocke County, TN having lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Mark R. and Clementine Williams. He was a retired marble mason with S.I. Bean Tile Company and had worked as a security guard for the Asheville Citizen-Times for several years. He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Tipton of Candler; a brother, Roy Williams of Cosby, TN; three grandsons, Steven, Travis and Casey Tipton and his wife, Michelle and one great-grandson, Brody Tipton. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. April 13, 2005 at Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Betty Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton and at other times the family will be at the residence of the grandson, Casey, 11 Mervine Street, Hilltop Mobile Home Park in Candler.
