Wanda Parton

Waynesville, Wanda Lee Messer Parton, age 79, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Clark R. and Annie Mae Hembree Messer and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Tucker Parton who died in 2001, two daughters, Debbie Trantham and June Sharp, one granddaughter, Dianna Trantham and three brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Vicky Caldwell and her husband Richard and Sharon Gibson and her husband Jerry all of Waynesville; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Frank, Dana and Rachel Caldwell, Dustin, Joseph and Jennifer Gibson and 5 great-grandchildren, Corey Frady, Noah Sharpe, Mackenzie and Grace Gibson and Heather Caldwell. Wanda enjoyed crosswords, knitting and gardening, but her first love was to her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Reverend Dennis Grahl will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
