Wanda Roberts

Waynesville, NC-Wanda Jane Honeycutt Roberts, age 63, of Killian Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2007. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Garrett and Mary Hodge Honeycutt and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie and Kathleen and four brothers, Herbert, David, Ruben, and Jess Honeycutt. She worked in the daycare industry for more than 25 years and was last employed as a daycare worker and teacher's assistant at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. She was a member of Barberville Baptist Church. Wanda had a contagious laugh and was an inspiration to everyone she met. She is survived by her husband of four years, Rick Roberts; a daughter, Angela Manchulenko of Palm Bay, FL; three sons, Randy Wyatt of Florida and Kevin Cook of Melbourne, FL and Brian Cook of Waynesville; four sisters, Vistie Marie Music of Newdale, NC, and Earlean Pittman, Thelma Boone and Barbara Hughes, all of Alliance, OH; two brothers, Perry Honeycutt and his wife, Judy, and Charles Honeycutt, both of Spruce Pine, NC; and three granddaughters, Brittany and Abigail Clark, and Lyric Gagnon. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Barberville Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Holland, Reverend G.W. Jameson, and Reverend Johnny Foster officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Newdale, NC.
