Waymeth Clark

"1929 - 2017"

Clyde, Waymeth Ray Clark, 88, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home after a period of extended illness.

Waymeth was born in Madison County and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son to the late Ulus "Shorty" and Eula Miller Clark. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorotha Mae Smith Clark who died in 2011; two brothers, Tom and Joe Clark; and a son-in-law, Tommy Green. Waymeth was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member in good standing of Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon of the church. His relationship with the Lord guided his life, and influenced him in his marriage and the raising of his children. He felt the most important decision you could make in your life was to give your life to Christ. Waymeth loved his family and spent most of his time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from Champion Paper Company.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Green and Vickie Jumper, and her husband, Robert, all of Clyde; two sons, Tim Clark, and his wife, Cindi, of Candler and Keith Clark, and his wife, Virginia, of Canton; sisters, Norma Adams, and her husband, Sam and Elizabeth Rathbone, the widow of Wayne Rathbone; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Adams, Reverend Alan Adams and Reverend Nick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Dawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
