Wayna Mae Henson, age 80, of 26 Henson Drive died Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Otis Vincent and Vina Welch Crisp. She was preceded in death by a son, Dana Ray Henson who died in 1993 and a brother, Dr. Gentry Crisp. She graduated from Cecil's Business College and was employed as a program manager with the Agriculture Stabilization & Conservation Service. She was a member of West Canton Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. Wayna Mae was a loving wife, mother, and Nannie. She enjoyed basket making and other crafts and going on family vacations to Lake Chatuge. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Reverend William O. "Bill" Henson, she is survived by two sons, Wayne Henson and his wife, Robin, and Steve Henson all of Clyde; two grandchildren, Candie Sellers and her husband, Mark, of Clyde and Shannon Putnam and her husband, Trevor, of Canton; and a great granddaughter, Morgan Ann Putnam. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at West Canton Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Steadman, Reverend Wallace Britt, and Reverend Christopher Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Pallbearers will be Daryll and Mike Henson, Jack Shuler, Joe Byers, Kenneth Mease, Michael Smith, Dr. Jon Crisp, and Tommy Battle. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons at West Canton Baptist Church.
