W. Cecil Brown

Waynesville, Warren Cecil Brown, age 64, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his residence.

A native of Hazelwood, he was a son of Ned Hamilton Brown and Martha Louise Shuler Brown.  He was the owner & operator of Hazelwood Gun & Tactical since 1989.  He enjoyed antiquing, collecting old Ford trucks and spending time with his boys.

Cecil is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Janice Gibson Brown; two sons, Cecil Brown, and his wife, Jennifer and Chad Brown, and his wife, Andrea; two sisters, Becky Trantham, and her husband, Clinton and Trish Allison, and her husband, Gary; one grandson, Jace Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Leslie officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waynesville Fireman’s Association, 1022 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.

The care of Mr. Brown has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
