Wendell Gregory

December 14, 1932 — May 25, 2013

"1932 – 2013" Canton – Wendell Washington Gregory, age 80, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Macon County, he was a son of the late Joe Ed and Ellie Woods Gregory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Inman and Edna Norris; and three brothers, Donald and Gordon Gregory, and Mitchell Woods. Wendell was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to Lake Chatuge, and hunting in Georgia. Wendell enjoyed eating out and especially eating shrimp. He is survived by two sisters, Glee Moore and her husband, Carl, of Canton, and Inez Inman of Bozoo, West Virginia; two brothers, Eugene "Gene" Gregory of Sylva, and Joe Gregory and his wife, Deanna, of Canton; 21 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and his special family at Silver Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Crestview Baptist Church with the Reverend Dan Page officiating. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
