Wilene Caldwell

"Loving Mother and Grandmother"

Waynesville, Wilene Laura Maney Caldwell, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at The Homestead.

A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Alma Nations Maney and was also preceded in death by a son, Lamond Caldwell; a granddaughter, Brandy Lynn Caldwell; sisters, Vetris Bolin and Jorene West; and a brother, Bill Maney.

Wilene was a faithful follower of Jesus. "Today we honor Wilene for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Wilene is survived by two daughters, Jaurell Fish and husband, Edwin, of Clyde and Gloria Fisher and husband, Bill, of Waynesville; a son, Gary Caldwell and wife, Donna, of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Jimmy Fisher and Michelle Mathews; two great-grandchildren, Adam Messer and Emily Cable; and two great-great-grandchildren, Addison and Warden Cable.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Cox and Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and at other times, at the home of Jaurell and Edwin Fish.
