Wiley Gibson

Canton- Wiley Carroll Gibson, age 81, of Pharr Street, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at MedWest-Haywood. Wiley was a native of Haywood County and former residence of Lakeland, Florida for 53 years. He was the son of the late Rufus B. Bowden and Willa Mae Hoyle Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ola Rogers Gibson; second wife, Eula Mae Skidmore Rogers Gibson and third wife, Elizabeth Conley Morgan Gibson. He was a National Guard member of the 30th Signal Company. Wiley retired in 1995 from Don Raabe Construction and later became a partner with Bill Morgan. He was a member of Full Gospel Church of God in Canton and West Lakeland Church of God He is survived by two daughters, Donna Adams and her husband, Walter, of Lakeland, Florida and Victoria Herrington of Canton; a son, Benny Carroll Gibson and his wife, Nancy, of Plant City, Florida; a stepson, Michael Rogers and his wife, Karen, two step daughters, Sharon Hyatt and Carolyn Tolley and her husband, Roland all of Swannanoa; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Victory Baptist Church in Plant City, Florida. Local services in Canton will be announced at a later date.
