Willa Carswell

Willa Hampton Carswell, age 93, formerly of Hy Vu Drive passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Scroggs Hampton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Carswell who died in 2001 and two brothers, Glenn and Claude Hampton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canton and an employee with the U.S. Government for 30 years. She is survived by a niece, Keitha Alford of Arden; a nephew, Tom Hampton of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister-in-law, Lois Hampton of Canton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Mr. Tommy Hampton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Canton, 29 Newfound Street, Canton, NC 28716.
