Willa Moody

Waynesville, Willa Belle "Billie" Jenkins Moody, age 87, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Haywood Lodge. A native and lifelong residence of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Parker and Vinnie Virginia Davis Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Luther Moody, who died in 2007; a daughter, Gail Lowe Terrell; granddaughter, Cindy Jo Terrell, six sisters, Sally, Carrie, Laura, Arbie, Nellie and Della and three brothers, Clem, Iolet and Swan Jenkins. Willa loved working in her flower garden and enjoyed being outdoors, walking in the beautiful Mountains of Western North Carolina. She also enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Faye Green and her husband, Wiley and Cathy Presnell and her husband, Mike, all of Waynesville; a step-son, Danny Moody of Ohio; a sister, Ollie J. Morgan of Waynesville; brother-in-law, Jim Moody and his wife, Pat; sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Moody, Betty Sue Latimore, and Frances Palmer; six grandchildren, Ricky Davis, Wayne Davis, Keith Green and his wife, Karen, Teri Prestridge and her husband, Lyle, Candy Vaughn and her husband, David and Christy Johnson and her husband, Chris; step-grandchildren, Adrian Presnell and his wife, Courtney; great-grandchildren, Robert Davis, Dakota Davis, Austin Green, Johnathan Green, Kennadie, Macie, and Lincoln Vaughn and Samantha and Tyler Prestridge; step-great-grandchildren, Erica Moody, Josie and Michael Presnell and Chris and Shannon Walker; one great-great-grandchild, Jacqueline Prestridge; and also many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Wells Events & Reception Center in Waynesville with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial followed at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the events center.
