William Brackett

Canton, William Bruce Brackett, age 61, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Marlor and Ann Morgan Brackett and was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Brackett. Bruce was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed camping and was an avid fan of the Carolina Tar Heels. Bruce is survived by his wife of 31 years, Amelia Cabe Brackett; daughters, Alora Brackett (Elizabeth Allred) and Sarah Brackett, all of Durham; two brothers, Mike Brackett of Asheville and Arnold Brackett of Waynesville; a nephew, Jody Brackett and his son, Cody; and two nieces, Toni Brackett (Erick Miranda) and Tiffany Brackett (Christopher Rich) and their son, Eli. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
