Waynesville-William Ronald "Ronnie" Bryson, age 65, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Jackson County, he was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Bill and Kate Henry Bryson. He was a member of Camp Branch Missionary Baptist Church; a long haul truck driver for 28 years, and retired from W.R. Grace Trucking Company. He loved fishing, cutting wood and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Forga Bryson; two daughters, Ginger Ferguson and her husband, Kenneth of Clyde and Shelli Smith and her husband, Jeffery of Maggie Valley; he is also survived by two sisters, Frances Cagle of Clyde and Lynn McCoy and her husband, Billy of Waynesville, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Henson and Donnie Bryson officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Smith, Kenneth and Nathan Ferguson, Bill Laney, Donnie Bryson and Roger Cagle and honorary pallbearer, Lucas Smith.
