Clyde, William Vager Clark, age 70, of 399 Poplar Cove Road, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Zeb and Eva Swanger Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Joseph Clark. Vager worked for BASF in security for 25 years and also at Western North Carolina Farmers Market as head of security for 13 years, before retiring in 2006. Vager enjoyed farming, fishing and raising beef cattle. He was a member of Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church where he was actively involved with his church, serving as Sunday school teacher and deacon. Vager was also a Mason and member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Justice Clark; two daughters, Zonya Harris and her husband, Ricky, and Scarlett Clark-Perry, all of Clyde; three grandchildren, Leanna Perry, Mariah and Ricayla Harris; and a nephew, Marty Clark of Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Moore and Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
