William Dotson

Canton- William Wayne Dotson- age 93 of Old Henson Cove Road died Monday, January 2, 2006 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. He was a son of the late Clarence Arthur and Ada Holder Dotson and the husband of the late Loree Henson Dotson who died in 1995. Mr. Dotson was a founding member of Center Pigeon Volunteer Fire Department and fire chief for over 30 years. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and retired in 1968 from Champion International Paper Company with over 30 years of service. He is survived by one daughter, Lucy Ashe and her husband Scott of Canton; one son, Joe Dotson and his wife Rose of Canton; one sister, Clara Davis of Asheville; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Stacy Hightower, Reverend Virgil Holloway and Reverend Matthew Pruett officiating. Burial will follow in Long's Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be members of Center Pigeon Volunteer Fire Department. At other times, the family will be at the residence of the son, 56 Palm Harbor Drive in Canton.
