William Duckett

Waynesville, William Edward Duckett, age 64, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at his home.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William "Bob" Duckett and Carolyn Fisher Owen.  He proudly worked for 20 years as a lumber yard supervisor at Lea Industries.

A follower of the Baptist faith, William enjoyed growing a garden and was an avid reader.  He will be remembered as a student of life – always looking to learn something new.  William will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

William is survived by his dear wife of 20 years, Linda Hicks Duckett; his son, Jason William Duckett; his stepfather, Eugene Kirby Owen; two sisters, Donna (Dewayne) Silvers and Wanda D. (Bart) Campbell; his grandson, Bobby Duckett; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Allison Cemetery with Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The care of Mr. Duckett has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
