William Ferguson

Waynesville-William Ralph Ferguson, age 68, of 58 Kathy Drive, died on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William McKinley Ferguson and Catherine Muse Ferguson. He was a millwright at BASF and retired after 38 years service. He enjoyed golf and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Waynesville Jaycees and past president of the Mountaineer Little League. He coached baseball and basketball and was very active in the Democratic Party and a member of Hazelwood Boosters Club. He was a member of Allen's Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Aulby Pless Ferguson; two sons, Randy Ferguson and Tim Ferguson and his wife, Lisa, of Waynesville; four sisters, Edna Harker and husband, Ed, of Asheville, Claudine Greene of Los Angeles, CA, and Mary Keener and husband, Lyman, and Judy Shirley and husband, Beuford, all of Waynesville; six brothers, Gerald Ferguson and wife, Betsy, Mike Ferguson and wife, Judy, James Ferguson and wife, Juanita, Eugene Ferguson, and Terry Ferguson and wife, Nancy, all of Waynesville and Danny Ferguson and wife, Diane, of Hilton Head, SC; and two grandsons, Bryan and Andrew Ferguson, who he had a special love for. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Dietz and Reverend Carl Presnell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
