William Gaddy

"1937 ̶ 2017"

Waynesville, William Bruce "Bill" Gaddy, age 80, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing Home.

A native of Haywood County he was the son of the late Joe Turner and Edna Clark Gaddy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Gaddy. Bill retired as a foreman with Champion International in 1999 with 37 years of service. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and also served two years in the Army Reserves. He attended East Waynesville Baptist Church. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked tirelessly to provide and care for his beloved family. Bill was as an avid collector of antiques and tractors.

Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Georgia Gaddy; one daughter, Cynthia McCarter, of Waynesville; three sons, Kirk Gaddy, and his wife, Kimberly, of Waynesville, Ken Gaddy (Shelly), of Atlanta, Georgia and Jonathan Cagle, of Waynesville; ten grandchildren, Cameron, Courtney, Megan, Wesley, Haley, Ferrin, Ezekiel, Chad, Karson and Carrie; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Bobby Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
